Prayer Warriors

More than anything, we covet your prayers for us in this journey.  Below are some specific ways in which we would love for you to pray:
  • For the decision-making process:
      • that God would give us wisdom, discernment, unity, and direction.
      • that we would continue to trust the Lord and humbly seek His will for our lives.

    • For our baby:
      • Prenatal care and a safe, healthy birth.
      • Emotional health as he/she grows and develops.
      • A sense of knowledge and security that he/she is loved; certainly as our child, but most importantly as a beloved child of God.

    • For the birthparents:
      • That any intervention needed for the birth mother during the pregnancy will be given and received.
      • That if the birthparents do not know the Lord, that this major life event might draw them to Christ.
      • That God would give them courage and surround them with the people and resources they need.  Pray for help and encouragement.
      • That God will comfort them as they grieve giving up their child.
      • For any future interactions that might take place following the adoption.  (We are willing to pursue an open adoption, if that is what God has planned for us.)

    • Our family:
      • For peace for us as we follow God’s leading.
      • That as parents we can nurture a sense of safety, love, and security in our adopted child.
      • Pray for Ben, especially during the transition time of welcoming a baby into our home.  Pray that we will have wisdom as his parents as we do all we can to provide a continued sense of safety, love, and security to him as well.  Please also pray that Ben will embrace his new sibling and that over time they will become cherished members of each other’s lives, just as our siblings are to us.

    • Financing:
      • Adoption is incredibly expensive – we need about $24,000 to pay for the adoption.  We are taking a big leap of faith, trusting that if God has led us this far, He will continue to provide.
      •  Please pray that we can be creative with how to raise funds, that we can receive solid financial advice, and that God will indeed provide for our family.

Adoption of a child is a beautiful reflection of how we are grafted into God’s family as His children.  We know there are bound to be bumps in the road – difficulties and challenges along the way – and even possible heartache and pain, but by His grace, we pray that we will also taste and see God’s goodness throughout this process.  It is also our prayer that at the end of it all, He will bring into our family the child that is perfectly meant for us.

Thank you for praying with us!
